A: IAMAS is the nickname for two schools’ created from the first letters in each word of their English names. _ Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences _ International Academy of Media Arts and Sciences
A: The Academy has a wide variety of enrolled students, from those that entered following graduation from high school, to those that have work experience at companies. _ University graduates and above are eligible for admission at the Institute, and students from an array of fields are registered, including art, engineering, philosophy, and literature. _ Additionally, international students are also enrolled in the school.

A: There is a student dormitory (RIST) in a residential area about 2.5 km. from IAMAS. RIST is endowed with comfortable facilities and reasonable rent. _ The dormitory is also close to Ogaki Station and its location offers easy access to other areas.
A: Each student has his/her own desk space and at the minimum is assigned one computer (MAC/WIN). _ Additionally, depending upon the contents of students’ research, by request they may have free use of an additional computer, video equipment and sound equipment.
A: Other than each courses’ seminars there are workshops, research, and projects for which faculty and students collaboratively conduct research and production. _ For general education in courses such as English and mathematics, diverse classes are held including lectures by outside invitee lecturers.
A: School descriptions and tours are held as occasion calls for individuals who wish to observe the facilities and those that desire to sit for the entrance examination. _ For details please refer to the Inquiries page. _ In addition, Graduate Works Exhibition is held at Softopia Japan in February, and IAMAS is available to the public during Open House in August, so please feel free to visit these events.
