Research Center for Industrial Culture[RCIC]
The Research Center for Industrial Culture (RCIC) is an auxiliary office of the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences that was started in 2010. The RCIC takes the information science technology and regional culture research of IAMAS and uses them to create cooperative research and community outreach projects with local industry. Reaching beyond mere cooperation with industry, we are involved with new cultural and industrial events and aim to build up the concept of “industrial culture” at the regional level.
The RCIC consists of the center’s president and research specialists. Its activities are run by the managing and public relations committees, which are made up of several faculty members. Previously known as the Center for Media Culture (CMC), this office acted as bridge, connecting the school’s various activities with the outside world. The new RCIC will continue the CMC’s endeavors while also strengthening local awareness of “region” and “industry”. Academic-Industrial Collaboration
Our joint efforts build a base through region, industry and business. From this, IAMAS students and faculty can conduct research and create artwork with a wider view of our world and society. We are actively searching out opportunities to strengthen ties with businesses and community groups.
Collaborative efforts include: -Determining needs of industries in the prefecture -Determining and promoting IAMAS’s capabilities (technology, design, research, etc.) -Connecting research at IAMAS with other universities -Conducting joint planning with industry support organizations -Supporting job placement in local businesses for graduates Inquiries IAMAS Research Center for Industrial Culture[RCIC] tel.0584-75-6606 / fax.0584-75-6637 IAMAS RCIC Branch Office tel.0584-77-1138 / fax.0584-77-1105 〉IAMAS RCIC Branch Cultural Activities
