Request Service

For materials not in the library catalog, we try to meet requests as well as possible through purchase or inter-library loan.
The Request Service is available at the library counter and through E-mail ( lib［at］iamas.ac.jp ).
When making a request by email, please include the following information:

E-mail Application Fields
　・Name (Required)
　・E-mail address (Required)
　・Title (Required)
　・Author (Required)
　・Publisher (Required)
　・ISBN
　・Cost
　・Web address featuring the book

Request for Purchase

The requested materials will be reviewed by the library or the Library Operation Committee to determine whether they are appropriate for the IAMAS Library before purchase.
Please understand beforehand that not all requests can be fulfilled.

For materials used that will be used repeatedly, please make a Request for Purchase.
Also, please introduce any materials you think would be good for the IAMAS Library to have in its catalog.

Requests are accepted at the counter and by E-mail ( lib［at］iamas.ac.jp ).
For requests at the counter, please fill out the Request Applications.
For requests by E-mail, please fill out the E-mail Application Fields above with your E-mail.

Please note that it takes approximately one to two months for materials to arrive at the library after a request has been made.
For urgent requests, please place an order for the items from another library.

Inter-library Loan

It is possible to borrow materials not in the IAMAS Library catalog from other libraries.
Shipping fees will be borne by the user.

For out-of-print items and urgent requests, please use this service.
Depending on the situation of the sister library, the materials can arrive as soon as two to three days.
When they arrive, you will receive notification by E-mail.

For requests by E-mail, please fill out the E-mail Application Fields above with your E-mail.

The loan period is based on the loaning library’s policy so please not that the loan period may differ from the IAMAS Library.
Further, loaning libraries may designate a library-use only condition.

Ordering Copies

You may order copies from other libraries if there is clearly an article that you need from a journal or
magazine.
Copy fees, post, and other fees are to be borne by the user.

Orders can be made at the library counter and through E-mail ( lib［at］iamas.ac.jp ).
Please include the following information when making orders at the counter or by E-mail:

・The above E-mail Application Fields
・Magazine name, publication date, volume number
・Page numbers from the journal required

Please use the Database or Websites useful for searching for searching magazines and journals.

Magazine Requests

We always welcome magazine requests, but they are reviewed only once a year, and subscription begins at the start of the following fiscal year.
Please understand that requests absolutely cannot be fulfilled immediately.
Further, some subscription requests will not be fulfilled.
