メールアドレスを詐称して送信されてくるなりすましメールについて「迷惑メール報告」をすると、それに連動して本来は迷惑メールではないメールアドレスが受信拒否リストに登録されてしまい、受信できなくなってしまう可能性があります。

IAMASでは2009年9月より次期ネットワークシステムへの移行を予定しております。前回のシステム入れ替えは5年前の2004年9月でしたが、この間にネットワーク利用を取り巻く状況は大きく変化しました。

今回はこうした変化を反映し、限られた予算の中で最大限の教育・研究ができることを目的としてデザインし直しました。現状のシステムから変更になる主な点、およびその理由は以下の通りです。

1. メールシステム
IAMASでは開学以来独自にメールシステムを運用して参りました。しかし、昨今のスパムの増加や携帯電話等からのアクセス等に対応できませんでした。
そこで、こうした問題を解決するための現実的な選択肢として「Yahoo!メール Academic Edition」の導入を決定いたしました。

このサービスは「Yahoo!メール」をベースにして教育機関向けにアレンジしたもので、スパムフィルタやPCおよび携帯電話からのウェブベースでのアクセスなどの機能が用意されています。また、現在利用していただいているアドレス（@iamas.ac.jp）は今後も引き続き利用していただくことができます。

新しいシステムに移行していただくための手順は次のようになります。想定される作業時間は15分程度です。

1. システム委員会からのアナウンスに従ってYahoo!メール用のアカウントを有効化
※この際に既にYahoo! JAPANのIDをお持ちであれば関連づけることも可能です
2. Yahoo!メール用のアカウント設定に必要な初期情報を入力
3. メールクライアントのPOPおよびSMTPサーバの設定（または転送設 定）を変更する

※メール等の移行手順の詳細に関しては7月中に連絡いたします。

2. ウェブサーバ
ウェブサーバには次のような機能が追加されます。

・MySQLによるデータベース機能（アカウントにつき1個が発行されます）
・Perl・PHPに加えてPythonおよびRubyのサポート

※OBGの方でメールアカウントのみの継続を希望され、ウェブは必要ないという場合には、ウェブに関しては特に設定していただかなくとも結構です。
ウェブ用のアカウントは一定期間後に自動的に削除されます（2009年度末を予定）。

3. メーリングリスト
現状利用していただいているような形態でのメーリングリストは廃止されます。公式メーリングリスト（iamasやannounceなど）に関しては代替手段を用意する予定ですが、それ以外のメーリングリストに関してはYahoo!グループやGoogle Groupsなどのサービスを利用していただけますよう、お願いいたします。

なお、「Yahoo!メール Academic Edition」でもメーリングリストが利用可能になるという計画はありますが、時期に関しては明言されていません。利用可能になり次第アナウンスいたします。

4. ファイルサーバ
現状IAMAS学内で利用しているファイルサーバ（AD1）は廃止されます。これは次のような理由によるものです。

・学内のみでの共有であれば簡単なサーバ（NASなど）で十分に対応できること
・代替となる無償のファイル共有サービス（Dropboxなど）の充実

移行に伴い、短期間のネットワーク停止や設定変更などが必要になります。予定に関しましては近日中にアナウンスいたします。

一時的にご不便をおかけすることもあるかと思いますが、ご理解とご協力のほど、よろしくお願いいたします。

We are planning to begin using a new network system at IAMAS in September 2009. The last time the system was replaced was five years ago in September 2004, but since then the surrounding circumstances of network usage have changed greatly.

The new system has been designed to reflect these changes, and to allow for the best education and research possible within the school’s limited budget. The changes that will be made, and the reasons for their implementation, are listed below.

1. Email System
Since IAMAS opened it has had its own email system. However, the system is incapable of dealing with the increased amount of spam emails sent out these days, cannot be accessed from cellular phones, and has various other problems. Therefore, as a realistic solution to these problems we have decided to begin using Yahoo! Mail Academic Edition.

This service is based upon the normal Yahoo! Mail system, but is oriented towards educational institutions, including features such as spam filters and able to be accessed by web based services from PCs or cellular phones. You will also be able to continue using your current email address (@iamas.ac.jp).

The procedure for migrating to the new email system is listed below. It is expected to take about 15 minutes to complete.
1.Use the email announcement from the System Committee to activate your Yahoo! Mail account. *If you already have a Yahoo! Japan ID you may skip this step.
2.Input information necessary to setup your Yahoo! Mail account.
3.Adjust the POP and SMTP (and forwarding) settings in your Email Client.

Information about Email migration procedures will be provided in detail in July.

2. Web Server
We will be adding the following capabilities to our web server.
-MySQL based database capabilities (One will be assigned to each account)
-Python and Ruby support will be added to Perl and PHP.

*Graduates who want to continue using IAMAS’ email services, but do not need web services only need to set up their email service. Web accounts will be automatically deleted after a certain period (planned for the end of the 2009 fiscal year).

3. Mailing List
The type of mailing list you are currently using will be terminated. We plan to provide alternative means for creating public mailing lists like the current iamas or announce, but we ask that other mailing lists be replaced through the use of Yahoo! Groups, Google Groups, etc.

Mailing list support has been planned for Yahoo! Mail Academic Edition but its implementation date has not been announced. When this information is announced we will relay it to you.

4. File Server
The current file server (AD1) will be terminated. This is being done for the following reasons:
- File sharing within the school can be accomplished with a simpler server (NAS etc.)
- A free alternative such as Dropbox would be sufficient

During the migration temporary network outages and changes to settings will be necessary.
Plans will be announced in the next few days. We ask for your cooperation in this matter and apologize for any inconveniences.
