Untitled 1, mutated squares serie,
acrilyc on wooden board, 90 x 90 cm, 2004

Untitled 8, digital wall paper serie,
digital print, 287x300 cm, 2002

[mutated square] & [digital wallpaper] series

are two series from a visual research started in 2002.
Sharing the same algorithmic process on the computer, both series are meant to be
deployed in the real space as wall paper, wall painting, canvas and combination of several techniques.

[mutated squares]
A group of few pixels are cloned and undergoe mutation - each new pixel get a shifted hue and a shifted position, resulting in a cluster of pixels organized according specific relation rules: each colored zone is deployed around a center/a node. The general pattern find its dynamics among the complex connection of the different zone and the remaing untouched and blank white space. A final magnification makes the geometric structure expandable to any surface or space. The result can be seen as a maze or network with implies logic of circulation.

[digital wallpaper]
A similar process as above using large group of pixels extracted from digital photos captured from the news media on internet.
The result is a complex and moired structure made of thousands of parallel lin\es.
