デジタル画像加工技術や画像生成AIの普及により写真の指標性への信頼が崩壊した現代において、写真メディア環境の変化が画像の見え方だけでなく、物理的な”モノ”の見え方さえも変容させたことを知覚させるインスタレーション。かつて「写真的に見えること」と「実在を確信すること」は繋がっていたが、現代ではその関係が切断されている。そのため、写真的だが実在している違和感から、物体固有の生々しい存在感が立ち現れる。

An installation that reveals how the collapse of photographic indexicality caused by the popularization of digital image manipulation, Image generative AI, and changes in the photographic media environment has transformed not only how images appear but how we also perceive physical objects themselves. In the past “appearing like a photograph” and certainty about existence were closely linked together, however in contemporary society that relationship is being severed. As a result, from the dissonance of objects that appear photographic yet undeniably exist, their raw and visceral presence comes into view.
