本研究は、現代社会の複雑化したコミュニケーション形態が持つ課題に対して、修士作品《似ているものたちのエッセイ─鳥の巻─》の制作を持って、鑑賞者にそのような状況に対応するための思考を促すことを目的とする。論文では修士作品の制作と合わせ、リアリティの個人差に由来するコミュニケーションの強度について考察した。
　社会が全体で共有する価値規範が衰退したとされる現代では、集団におけるコミュニケーション形態は多様化・複雑化し、そうした規範の範囲は限定的でハイコンテクストなものとなった。こうした状況の進行により、コミュニケーション規範にはむしろ感覚的・身体的な反応そのものが台頭してきた。本論では、集団におけるコミュニケーション規範についての社会学的な議論と、認知科学的な身体の自己感に関する議論を補助線に、そのような状況を「リアリティの乱立」した社会であると捉える。そして、コミュニケーション発生時におけるその場限りの価値規範＝「リアリティの乱立」に晒されるような状況に対して、個人は自身が置かれる状況に自覚的になることが必要だと考える。そこで本制作では、「見ること」と「見ようとすること」の差異に着目し、それらが連続性を持つことへの指摘として「見えてしまうもの」（＝似ているもの）を主題とした様々なモチーフを提示する。そうすることで、現代のコミュニケーション形態における状況への批判的な理解の場を与え、そうした状況に対応するための思考を促すことを試みた。
　本論の構成は、一章で本研究の論点を述べ、修士作品の制作によって問題にアプローチすることを述べた。二章では、現代社会におけるコミュニケーション形態について、社会学的な議論を参照し、本論のコミュニケーション規範に対する捉え方（＝「リアリティの乱立」）を述べた。三章では、認知科学で扱われる身体の自己感についての議論を参照し、生物学的な基盤としての身体を共有していることについてのコミュニケーション規範について考察した。四章では、二章と三章で行った議論について、その接続点を述べ、作品制作の目的と手法について述べた。五章では、修士作品《似ているものたちのエッセイ─鳥の巻─》の解説と作品の考察を行った。六章では、作品の考察を踏まえ、再度本論の議論と合わせて、「見ること」「見ようとすること」の差異について考察し、リアリティの個人差に由来するコミュニケーションの強度について考察した。最後に今後の課題について述べた。

Essay of Similar Things –bird ver.– is a work created to address the complex communication forms of modern society and to encourage spectators to think about how to respond to them. Through this work and research paper, I analyze the strength of communication derived from differences in how individuals experience ‘reality’.
　In this era, common social values have been lost, forms of communication within groups have become diverse and complex, and the scope of rules governing communication have become limited and high-context. As this situation has progressed, paradoxical sensory and physical reactions have emerged as communication norms. In this paper, I use sociological ideas about group communication norms and cognitive-scientific ideas about body awareness as auxiliary lines to argue that in our society, reality is a “jumble.”
　It is necessary for individuals to be aware of their situation situation: that ad-hoc value determination at the time of communication is exposed to the “jumble reality”. Therefore, in this production, we focus on the difference between “seeing” and “trying to see”, and present various motifs related to “visible things” (= similar things) that point out the continuity of their phases.By doing so, I tried to provide a place for critical understanding of situations in modern forms of communication and to encourage thinking to respond to such situations.
　It is necessary for an individual to be aware of the situation in which they have been placed, one in which ad-hoc rules at the time of communication are exposed to the ‘reality jumble.’
　In chapter 1 of this paper, I state the issues I researched and describe how I approached these problems through my master’s project. In Chapter 2, I refer to the sociological debate on the form of communication in modern society and describe how to understand the communication norms I call “jumble reality”. In Chapter 3, I look at the discussions of body awareness in cognitive science and consider norms of communication related to sharing a biological body. Chapter 4 describes the points of connection between the discussions in Chapters 2 and 3, and the purpose and methodology of my project. In Chapter 5, I review Essay of Similar Things –bird ver.–. In Chapter 6, I once again discuss the differences between “seeing” and “attempting to see” based on my work, considering the intensity of communication resulting from differences in how individuals perceive reality. Finally, I conclude with future challenges related to this research.
