Production Seminar D (Exhibition)
This is an intensive course where students will comprehensively learn about exhibition setup, from the foundational elements to the practical application, covering three main forms: one-dimensional, three-dimensional, and installation works. The objective of this workshop, which utilizes an actual gallery space, is to enable students to acquire a range of practical skills, from the handling of exhibition objects and installation techniques to lighting, visitor flow planning, safety management, and exhibition dismantling.
The course is composed of lectures in the hall, and seminars in the gallery. The course will be carried out as a 3-day intensive lecture.
Only first year students are eligible to take this course, and it will be held over three days, August 26 – 28 (Blocks 1 – 5 every day).
- Day 1: General orientation, introduction to installations, installation setup practice
- Day 2: Installation setup practice, review / critique and dismantling, introduction to one-dimensional exhibitions, one-dimensional exhibition setup practice
- Day 3: Introduction to three-dimensional exhibitions, three-dimensional exhibition setup practice, three-dimensional exhibition lighting training, review / critique of both one-dimensional and three-dimensional exhibitions, dismantling
* It is recommended when taking this course to wear clothes and shoes that are easy to move in.
Will be introduced in class as necessary.
